ON THE DL
ON THE DL
The Big Announcement with AJ Daulerio
AJ Daulerio from Deadspin joins us to break some major On the DL news. And talk sports. And media. And Kenny Powers.
We start with the news that our show is going five days a week starting in March. I think Daulerio has agreed to be on three of those shows (hey, it’s on tape). It’s a big step and I hope you, the listeners, take it with us.

One of the organizations investigating A-Rod is MLB.com. We talk about the new wave of media, how reporters are employed by leagues to cover the teams. Is MLB.com’s work on the A-Rod story proof that the league has washed it’s hands with Rodriguez and is trying to distance themselves from one of their top players? Is it a cut-bait situation at this point for MLB.
Some pundits are still up in arms that the other 103 names haven’t come out yet. Media should stop complaining and go find out the other names. Daulerio brings up the point that it’s not like one person knows those test results. Hundreds of people have to know. What happened to good ol’ fashioned journalism?
We talk about why newspapers don’t really work anymore and how journalism will soon be exclusively on TV or online. It brings up the question -- is online journalism different? There’s no way a newspaper would out a player like Deadspin did to Jamaal Anderson, even if it is a blind email item. How have they gotten away with this? Daulerio’s answer to our pressing questions is very interesting.

Only with Daulerio.
