Zerkle Fills in For Nick, Talks All-Stars, NFL Weekend & White Hoops
The guy wins a vote and he’s taking over the place. Josh Zerkle from With Leather and KSK fills in for Nick’s ailing computer to talk about the world of sports.
First, we discuss the vote that saw him defeat Matt Sebek and earn a trip to Vegas. Seriously, thanks to everyone who voted. We talk about how Twitter compared favorably from a traffic standpoint to the established sites like Deadspin and Hot Clicks. Maybe point-to-point marketing is the future.
Josh and I talk about the big Cavs-Lakers game last night and spin that into a conversation about the NBA All-Star Game and if Allen Iverson being a starter is good for the league or shows that fans really just don’t pay attention to anything other than the names. Tracy McGrady almost made a starting spot and he hasn’t started as much as a regular season game in quite some time.
More Football Talk:

Which means that likely players from the final four teams won’t be going to the game. Nor will some playoff quarterbacks – Rivers, Palmer – who are either too hurt or to tired to go. Enter Vince Young.
Don’t we need a better system? Can’t we just have a skills challenge and forget about the silly game anyway?
Josh and I talk about this weekend’s games and try to figure out what the best Super Bowl match-up will be from a promotion and media standpoint. Also, is the Colts Karma thing for not trying to go undefeated meritorious?
And what about the legacy of Favre. Ah, Favre.
Housekeeping:
Isn’t an all-white basketball league a good idea? See, here’s the thing about racists -- I’d rather have the morons be out in the open where we can identify them. Latent racism is so hard to fight, but overt stuff like this just makes it so much easier to know who to avoid.
Thanks to Josh, and you for listening.
