We talk a lot of NBA today, so strap in.

First, we talk about Ron Artest telling Sporting News that he used to drink Hennessy at halftime of games when he played for the Bulls and that for years, starting when he was 19, he was basically drunk or high every night.

It’s not unexpected, but it is pretty shocking to hear a current player admit that. And let me take that last sentence back -- it is totally unexpected that a professional athlete would be drinking at halftime of a game. It’s rather insane, really. Was he just taking a nip or was he doing shots? Is this a fish tale or was it a really serious problem than nobody knew about -- including his college coaches -- for years?

The Court Report:

Okay, fine, this usually about court, meaning law, not court, meaning basketball. Whatever.

We talk about Allen Iverson’s return to the city, try our best to break down the roster and how AI can fit (bench Willie Green when Lou Williams comes back) and what the guy means to the city. But will fans care after Monday? Will this really rejuvenate the Sixers and get the fans interested? Time will tell.

But there’s this. If Iverson brings just 3,000 more fans to games, after 30 games, just in ticket sales alone (not including parking, concessions, merchandise) I’ll pay for himself. From a financial standpoint, it’s a no-brainer for the Sixers.

The Nets should learn from this. Can they bring back Jason Kidd, who just torched them last night? Maybe Derrick Coleman is available. They need to do something as the Nets can’t win, can’t draw and may be the worst franchise in the history of the NBA right now. It’s really hard to watch.

Housekeeping:

We try to wrap our heads around the newest information in the Tiger Woods saga. And we talk about all this business about endorsements. Nobody is leaving Tiger’s side because Tiger is their partner, not their celebrity endorser. The guy has a logo -- a brand -- with Nike. They’re in this together. The question is, is Elin? And how much did she know before? She had to know what she was getting into with him, right?
