The Weekend That Was: We dissect the selection process and discuss the fact that only four mid-major teams got in as at-large selections. Why was so much put on the power conferences? Can a 12-seed Wisconsin team be considered Cinderella? And who do we think will go far into the tournament. Nick thinks it’s too early to pick, but we give some Monday Morning assessments of the brackets and the top teams changes (hint: we like the BIG EAST...too much).

Inside the Press Box: We look at the recent Ombudsman column by Le Anne Schreiber of ESPN. Schreiber is leaving the two-year post and in her final column talks about the many complaints she was sent. In all, the underlying theme was less is more. We discuss the challenge of a place like ESPN to balance “less” while constantly giving us “more.” We also wonder who she got the most hate mail about. 

The Soapbox: Nick talks about the increased number of alternate jerseys. Some teams have four and five different jersey combinations. It’s ridiculous. Dan talks about the new Women’s Soccer League and their email for credential requests. They will only accept requests from ‘an actual media outlet or broadcaster.’ What in the world does ‘actual’ mean...you’re women’s soccer. You should be letter any blogger with a laptop in to cover you.
